I read the group rules, Submit Art and i am a little bit puzzled over the question of Holmes and Watsons relationship.
Having watched the series from when it was originally broadcast and now on dvd i see that Brett's portrayal of Holmes is a man whose sexuality is questionable and who may not be at ease with himself, however the relationship with Watson cannot be questioned. If anything, Holmes is mildy Autistic.
Holmes isnt quick to trust people and doesnt show affection but once they gain his trust he does gain affection and respect for them, Mrs Hudson, Inspectors Lastrade and Bradstreet and John Watson who he may trust the most and as with any friend who you trust the most, almost like a brother, there is affection, the same he shows for Mycroft but it is never mentioned. You can clearly see that in The Final Problem and The Adventure of the Empty House.
Any suggestion of anything other is utter rubbish and i cannot believe it is even questioned.

Ignore everything holmes that came out of hollywood, the Granada series is was and willl always be the best.
